Line Drawings follows a recurring visual theme across different media made by the European Space Agency (ESA). The videos date from the 1980s to today and describe past, present, and future ESA programmes for lunar exploration. As the work unfolds, a series of lines reach for, encircle, enclose, divide, and tether the Moon in multiplying gestures of lunar relation. Amid the current global race to return to Earth’s natural satellite, it aims to amplify a tension found along the fine lines separating exploration from exploitation.
